GHD are the lead designers for the Integrated Project Delivery team on a large Western Australian rail link project.
The project consists of an under river crossing, twin bored tunnels, three train stations, two portal buildings and dive structures, twelve cross passages, three emergency egress shafts and over 20kms of rail track, all of which is a first for Western Australia.

This presentation will provide insight into how BIM was implemented and how new process was developed specifically to deliver a federated, data rich project information model for a linear design.

Daniel Moodie – Project BIM Leader, GHD Associate

Daniel is an Industrial Designer & BIM Project Lead currently working with the Forrestfield Airport Link Integrated Project Delivery team based out of GHD’s Perth office. This technical session is joint with buildingSMART.

We are pleased to announce that the Australasian Tunnelling Society (ATS) and BuildingSMART (bSA) have joined forces and signed an MOU to enable collaboration on BIM and digital engineering use for tunnels and underground structures. This will enable cooperation, information exchange and promotion on matters of common interest, knowledge-sharing, development of technical standards, driving interoperability of software and representation on technical committees.
